In August 2011, Jack and Lois Sladkey celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary, but as of December 2010, Jack is no longer Lois’ husband. If you ask her, she will tell you that her husband is on a long business trip, and the man living with her is just a good friend.

Lois was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease in May 2005.
